About the Attorney

Christopher Lyerla practices law throughout central Texas. Unlike some firms that depend on volume and spend a small amount of time on each case (usually by simply urging a client to take the prosecution's initial offer), Mr. Lyerla keeps his caseload small so that he can give your case the time and attention it deserves.
Mr. Lyerla graduated from the University of Texas with a B.A. in History, and then received his Juris Doctorate from the University of Houston. He had wide exposure to criminal justice systems throughout law school, assisting the Harris County (Houston) District Attorney's Office, the U.S. Attorney's Office (federal prosecutor), the Department of Justice in Washington, DC, and the International Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia in The Hague.
After law school, Mr. Lyerla prosecuted with the Cameron County District Attorney's Office on the Texas-Mexico border. Then he moved back home to central Texas as a prosecutor for the 25th Judicial District. He has managed criminal caseloads numbering in the thousands, has personally worked on hundreds of cases, and has taken dozens all the way through jury trial.

I will never force a client to accept a result they are uncomfortable with. My clients decide the course of their case, always."
